Last Night From Glasgow, in partnership with Stereogram Recordings are delighted to announce the return of The Cathode Ray with the release of their fourth album titled “Advance Retreat” on September 20th 2024.
Preceded by the single “Travelling in Style”, which dropped on May 10th to an enthusiastic reception, it will be available on CD, vinyl and download formats with various bundle options.
Following on five years from their last album, “Advance Retreat” explores contrasting lyrical themes of belonging and alienation, communication and misunderstanding, escapism and realism, while musically it expands on the styles and sounds associated with The Cathode Ray.
The current line-up of the band is Jeremy Thoms, Steve Fraser, Phil Biggs and David Mack. Neil Baldwin appears on the forthcoming album, but is taking a short sabbatical from promotional activities.
The Cathode Ray return to the live stage with dates supporting The Monochrome Set on May 24th & 25th at The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh and Mono in Glasgow respectively. Additionally, they will open for James King & The Lonewolves at Stereo in Glasgow on June 7th.
The album will be released on both Vinyl, CD & Lossless DL
