Dangerfield Combination Lock - Lock Picks - 2 Piece Bypass Mini-Knife Set

The Mini-Knife Decoder is a legendary locksmith tool that opens a multitude of locks. It's one of those tools that has earned the 'must have' status among lock pickers everywhere.

Our mini-knives have a gripped and extended handle, as well as a long blade made from the finest 301 High Yield steel, providing unrivaled feedback when decoding locks, or any of the other multitude of tricks and techniques you can perform with a decent miniknife.

Mini-knives give you non-destructive entry into MANY different locks, allowing you to decode or bypass them in minutes - sometimes even seconds. New locks that are susceptible to various forms of knife-type bypass are being discovered all the time - maybe you'll find a new one!

Whether you're just starting out in the art of lock picking or are quite advanced, a mini-knife will increase your range instantly. These well-proven tools add a unique dimension to your skill-set, and for locksmiths, are essential.

Recently, people have been using miniknife tools to deal with 'Sliders' in locks like the Yale 3-star Platinum. Having a thin but sturdy knife-like tool will come in handy for many jobs you'll encounter in your lock picking journey. Scroll down and watch the VIDEO where we used them to help open a Kwikset 3rd Gen Smartlock.

Combination locks - whether the many padlocks, key-boxes, lockers, cabinets, or briefcases - have very small spaces between the wheels. By inserting the mini-knife decoder into these tight spaces, you can learn how to 'read' the combination by looking for 'flats', 'grooves', or any other kind of indicator that suggests a change in the 'feel' of the wheel.

People have even used mini-knife tools to help decode push button locks, by locating vulnerabilities in the small space around the buttons.

Some locks, like the Master 175 doesn't even need decoding. By inserting the mini-knife decoder to the left of the third wheel, you can actually depress the locking mechanism and cause the lock to open.

GAUGE: 2 x 0.21mm

A great example of how the mini-knife tool works. By simply inserting the knife through the small space between the third wheel and the housing, you can then simply lever the copper colored part down - causing the lock to open!

Many un-shielded padlocks can be opened by inserting the knife beyond the pins, and applying pressure straight to the locking mechanism - this doesn't work on all padlocks but can be an effective bypass and always worth trying.

There's many wheeled combination locks out there, and with a mini-knife decoder you might find a way to open them.

This illustration shows how many wheeled combination locks can be decoded with the mini-knife tool. Insert beside the wheel and look for something that 'tells' you there's a difference. From there you can often work out the code and open the lock. In this case it's a groove in the axle, giving away the 'right' place, the right number on the wheel to open the lock.

Mini-Knives have been proven on many locks, with more being added all the time. Here's just a selection we've identified as being vulnerable to these tools:

  • Masterlock 175
  • Masterlock 745
  • Sesame lock 400
  • Presto 2470
  • Presto 2620
  • Briefcase/Luggage combination locks
  • Master, Realtor, Puroma, and Towoke keysafe boxes
  • Single and secondary lock Handcuffs
  • Many unbranded, generic, or O.E.M. type wheel or push button combination locks.

Another good illustration showing the wheels of a combination lock individually, with the mini-knife tool pushed into the space between the wheels and locating the groove in the spindle. Once all three have been located, the lock opens and the combination is 5 5 1. Sometimes the groove or 'flat' will be one, two or three away from the flat, or groove you locate, so if you decode a three-wheeled combination lock as 5 5 1, be sure to try 6 6 2 and 7 7 3, as well as the other way, so 4 4 0, etc.

Our Mini-Knives have extended handles for more comfort. From tip to tail they're 140mm, with the gripped handle comprising 90mm of that.

Part of the fun of lock picking is discovering new techniques and tricks, and mini-knives are the perfect tool for experimentation, while earning their place among your kit, having been proven successful across a wide range of locks.

This VIDEO shows a great example of how experimentation with these tools can lead to some remarkable results....
